The most common piece of month-one feedback isn't about marketing at all.
Almost every new client expects month one to be about channels — which platforms, which ads, which content calendar. Most of the time, the first real conversation is about the offer itself.
It's uncomfortable to hear that the growth problem isn't a visibility problem. But a confusing offer, inconsistent pricing, or a sales process that changes with every prospect will out-cost any amount of good marketing.
The second surprise: we usually recommend doing less, not more, at the start. Fewer channels, fewer offers, fewer messages — run cleanly — outperform a wider spread run inconsistently, and it's easier to tell what's actually working.
Founders brace for a growth plan. What they usually get first is a subtraction plan. The growth tends to follow once there's less to be confused about.
If this hit close to home, that's worth an actual conversation, not another article.
